Kate and Mike had the most amazing beachside wedding on New Year’s Eve at the Harbor Beach Marriott. What a way to ring in the new year!
When the groom’s last name is Paradise, it only makes sense to get married by the ocean in a resort that feels like paradise found. Add to that a nearly perfect full moon at the ceremony itself, and they literally couldn’t have asked for anything better.
After getting ready with her bridesmaids, Kate slipped into her stunning Pronovias gown, with her grandmother’s help. I was sure to capture this moment of love between these two amazing women as well as some portraits in the suite before we headed down to the pool area for an emotional first look with Mike.
One of my favorite moments was during their Ketubah signing, when neither of them could hold back their tears of joy while the rabbi read from the Ketubah. They were like this all day—never shying away from the emotions of the moment—and that made them so wonderful to photograph.
They exchanged their vows under a stunning modern chuppah created by J. Morgan Flowers, and then it was off to the celebration! In keeping with the New Year’s tradition, Kate and Mike had created resolutions for each table rather than table numbers. How cool is that? My favorite was Table Ten, which was: “Fill your life with adventure.”
And then when Kate and Mike paid homage to their last name with a first dance to “Two Tickets to Paradise,” I honestly couldn’t think of any better way to kick off the reception and ring in the new year. With a balloon drop as the clock struck midnight, it was one amazing party!
Mike & Kate, thank you for asking me to be part of your celebrations! I loved ringing in 2018 with you and your friends and family.
