Eileen and Andres wedding at the Biltmore Hotel honored her family heritage and their connection to the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables. The church in particular held a lot of meaning for this gorgeous couple. Eileen’s great-grandparents got married there in 1926—and were the first couple married there! To honor that family heritage, Eileen and Andres were the 4th generation from her family to exchange vows at the Church of the Little Flower.
Church of the Little Flower Ceremony
Eileen told me this story when we first met up and showed me photos of her grandparents’ wedding day. I got the chills—and was reminded how emotional and essential the ceremony is as part of your wedding day. Just looking at those pictures, I knew my style of classic, timeless wedding photography would be a perfect fit for them.A great way to create images they could one day share with their own grandchildren.
Everything about their wedding day was a nod to an era of classic elegance—from Eileen’s beautiful lace Rosa Clara wedding gown to the historic Biltmore Hotel as the backdrop of their reception. When they exchanged vows and rings, they even used Eileen’s grandmother’s wedding ring. Another way to honor their past while also looking to their future together.
After the ceremony at the Church of the Little Flower, we made another stop honoring the past at the home where Eileen’s grandmother once lived. We took a few portraits of Eileen and Andres there before we went to the Biltmore to take advantage of the late afternoon light for portraits of not only this gorgeous couple but their bridal party. They looked amazing, and so did the gold and white details that accented the historic architecture in the Granada Ballroom.
Andres & Eileen, thank you for putting so much thought into your wedding day. You were both such amazing examples of the power of reflecting on your family’s heritage. It’s a wonderful reminder that when your grandchildren look back at your wedding album, they will know how much you truly love each other. These traditions continue to tell the story of your families, and I’m honored to be part of that.
